Priceless.

Psalms 36 Today!

1 An oracle is within my heart
concerning the sinfulness of the wicked: [a]
There is no fear of God
before his eyes.

2 For in his own eyes he flatters himself
too much to detect or hate his sin.

3 The words of his mouth are wicked and deceitful;
he has ceased to be wise and to do good.

4 Even on his bed he plots evil;
he commits himself to a sinful course
and does not reject what is wrong.

5 Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens,
your faithfulness to the skies.

6 Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains,
your justice like the great deep.
O LORD, you preserve both man and beast.

7 How priceless is your unfailing love!
Both high and low among men
find refuge in the shadow of your wings.

8 They feast on the abundance of your house;
you give them drink from your river of delights.

9 For with you is the fountain of life;
in your light we see light.

10 Continue your love to those who know you,
your righteousness to the upright in heart.

11 May the foot of the proud not come against me,
nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.

12 See how the evildoers lie fallen—
thrown down, not able to rise!

Yeah! I've learnt to continue to love. I guess school's quite okay today. Was quite tolerable(?) Actually :) I've tried hard though. And yeah. And i've also learnt not to be proud. And it's super relevant to what we were talking about this few days. Pride, joy, end times, wickedness, love. And verse 7 is super touching! God still will love us even high and low among man - even when we suck, or whatever, He's still there.

How awesome is Your love, God :)

A start

First - This song is really powerful. I remember the whole congregation was weeping, and about how God really touched them through this song. Thank God for this song!

Yesterday's sermon was about self-esteem. Really thank God for the sermon yesterday. And before that was a powerful testimony. About how God changed the girl's life. And her family too. And yes, by the way. I'm not writting this blog to boast about how God helped me through, but to yes, help anyone who's in the same situation, and how God helped me out of it.

Yesterday me, Mindy, Evan and Joanna sat down and really had a nice talk :) We talked about most of the end times. And even getting and building a closer relationship with God.

And mindy talked about the sufferings. Something really hit me, About the 7 years of tribulation i think. And it's like, Christians will be persecuted. And it's for like only a short time compared to ETERNITY man. Would you suffer, just during the end times to STAND up for God, or would YOU, enjoy life, deny Christ and go to hell, and suffer for the whole ETERNITY? That's something really powerful to think about :)

We were talking about tongues too. About how natural it can be. Holy Spirit just guides us all the way, and it's like. Eventhough we don't really know what the other person needed, it just appears in our mind to pray. Very awesome it is :)

I've learnt to change my:
1) To judge people in my mind - Killer.
2) To love the unlovables. Not to be so irritated, And screaming at them most of the time.
3) To do everything for God, not for Men to see.

That's the vital part i'm changing now. So, please pray for me about this :)

Yesterday was Jeremiah 1 for the sermon. And i went home and read about it.

Jeremiah 1

4 The word of the LORD came to me, saying,

5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."

6 "Ah, Sovereign LORD," I said, "I do not know how to speak; I am only a child."

7 But the LORD said to me, "Do not say, 'I am only a child.' You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. 8 Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you," declares the LORD.

9 Then the LORD reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, "Now, I have put my words in your mouth. 10 See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant."

17 "Get yourself ready! Stand up and say to them whatever I command you. Do not be terrified by them, or I will terrify you before them.

18 Today I have made you a fortified city, an iron pillar and a bronze wall to stand against the whole land—against the kings of Judah, its officials, its priests and the people of the land.

19 They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you," declares the LORD.

How awesome is our Lord? I've learnt from this, to be like Jeremiah. To be even able to evangelise. And not be terrified, for God will terrify me before them. I've learnt too, that God will be with us, and will rescue us whenever we're out there. In the world.

Integrity

Integrity - 1) More than telling the truth
2) Doing what you said you'd do
3) Keeping your promises when the other party forgot about it

It's hard to keep up with it. Eventhough there might be times when i'm tempted, to cheat during exams, but i'm glad i didn't. For example the recent Chinese Test (Counted in CA2) I wasss real tempted to cheat, but i didn't. And very pathetically, i got 18/50. But well, at least i'm glad that at least i have integrity! Hahaha.

Why must we have integrity?
1) Integrity will protect you
2) Integrity will cause you to be secure
3) Integrity allows other people to trust you

Hahaha it's true man. Yeah so i've gotta start living with integrity. Instead of cheating, study hard. And my common test is coming, please pray for me to be able to concentrate well, and yeah, ace it, with God, i believe i can :)

Time for Everything, Importancy of Bible

Devotion
Today's devotion i learn about Time, and the author talked about Psalms 139

1 O LORD, you have searched me
and you know me.

2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.

3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.

4 Before a word is on my tongue
you know it completely, O LORD.

5 You hem me in—behind and before;
you have laid your hand upon me.

6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.

7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?

8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.

9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,

10 even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.

11 If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,"

12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.

13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.

14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,

16 your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

17 How precious to [b] me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!

18 Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand.
When I awake,
I am still with you.

19 If only you would slay the wicked, O God!
Away from me, you bloodthirsty men!

20 They speak of you with evil intent;
your adversaries misuse your name.

21 Do I not hate those who hate you, O LORD,
and abhor those who rise up against you?

22 I have nothing but hatred for them;
I count them my enemies.

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.

24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.

I learnt that our God is an omni-present God, and that God's timing is the best, as verse 16 says, "In Your book they were all written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them." If we're believers of Christ, we can be confident that death is an open door to eternal life with Jesus! God's timing is perfect, even in death!

Quiet Time

I realised the importance of my bible, and how much joy it brings to me when i read it, and when i talk to God. I Regretted leaving it there alone, for like how many months, and today my friend talked with me about Christ, i managed to bring him back onto doing his quiet time. I've learnt alot from it myself too. I learnt that the importance of Quiet time, and all those things. I tried to live with integrity today! I kept forgetting and i exaggerated alot. So yeah, gotta pray for me that i can live a week of integrity today! Thank you Lord :)

Care and Love.

19th July 2008

Devotion

The story of Jonah shows the attention our Creator gives to All His creatures. The Lord expresses concern not only for the citizens of Nineveh but also for their livestock. Bible too, shows a link between caring for people and animals. The creator gives us reason to provide appropriate, though different, attention to both. If God cares for even livestock, how can we ignore the needs of any person for whon His Son died?

Start Caring for everyone! Eventhough those who hates you, and because if you love, then others will see that you're a child of God because you love :)

God cares for us and calls us to care for His creation.

Quiet Time

Today God told me not to judge, but only God can judge. And sometimes i would tend to judge someone in my mind, and not saying it out. So this is one way of judging too. And because God has seen everything, so we've got no rights to judge. We should love instead, Cause if non-christians see us loving, They'd know that we're Christians.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
- 1st Cor 13: 4-8

Many of times when i'm serving in media, i tend to do alot of mistakes. Like for example for today's projectionist duty, i didn't check the font, and it was wrong. And that caused the whole congregation not to praise, or rather, see the lyrics for the first part of "Free" Just then, the devil striked me. Lol. And told me things like "Whoah 3rd Time already leh! Still make mistake, or like. Seee, you caused the whole congregation not to be able to praise!!" And for the 1st and 2nd time when i served, i encountered this too. But what i did was just to keep it in my heart, Not to let God take it away, or not rebuking satan for his faults, and often feeling guilty after that. But no more for yesterday! I proclaimed in the name of Jesus that we all can do great things thru Christ, and that we're fearfully and wonderfully made. We're not doing the things for Man to see, but God. He sees our heart, it's okay if we make mistakes. Or rather, we all make mistakes. So it's how you got over it, that counts. Thank you Lord ;)

Start of a New Life

Hello! I'm just here to blog about what God has spoken to me about my life, and yeah. So this shall be an E-Spiritual Journal for me. Why? Just to keep track, so that when I'm down or anything, I can read this again, to Spur me on! :)

18th July 2008

Devotion
Yes i've been pondering about the littlest things we've done. And for today's devotion i read about How little things are, but the consequences is great. And the author said that from a small mosquito bite, he nearly died of blood poisoning. And it's all because of something as tiny as a mosquito. (From "The Daily Bread")

James warn us about another little thing that can also be very destructive - the tongue. Eventhough the tongue is little, it boasts great things. Although the tongue is small, there is nothing small about the damage it can do. Words carry with them the power of healing or a destructive capacity far greater than the poison of any mosquito bite.

So, we must use words with great wisdom and care.

A careless word may kindle strife, A cruel word may wreck a life, A timely word may lessen stress, A loving word may heal and bless. - Anon

The tongue can bring death or life;
those who love to talk will reap the consequences.
-Proverbs 18

It is better to bite your tongue than to let it bite someone else.

Quiet Time
Job 13

20 "Only grant me these two things, O God,
and then I will not hide from You:

21 Withdraw Your hand far from me,
and stop frightening me with Your terrors.

22 Then summon me and I will answer,
or let me speak, and You reply.

23 How many wrongs and sins have I committed?
Show me my offense and my sin.

And God spoke to me that, I should set my focus back to Him, and because i've been escaping reality, and that not to be distracted by things that will come along the way. Things like temptation, like fame, money. But all these things are useless, but what i really need is God, a God that will deliver me from all my troubles. And instead of complaining, I should set aside things, and Praise Him even It's during my tough times. Cause He'd make it better for me, And no matter how hard i try, How the littlest things i've done, He sees it. :)
